Coeur d'Alene Idaho Real Estate & Property Management

ok - just . one . more . length

to go and i've made it to the top of my self-imposed climb to 100k.

Yeah, if I got your attention, sorry, it's a waste of your time.  This is solely and completely a selfish post, with no value added for anyone but myself.

Oh wait, here's something ...

Everyone and their mother's uncle has decided to list their properties for sale in the last 7 days - I'm thinking that something is in the air, because it's been insanely busy - between hubby working with buyers and people wanting to BUY NOW and myself working with sellers and sellers wanting to get their homes on the market NOW - it's starting out to be ONE . CRAZY . SUMMER!

Take advantage of it.  List your property at the RIGHT PRICE.  Just because some agent tells you your property is worth more than I've told it's worth doesn't mean that agent can GET IT SOLD at that price.  In fact, I pretty much guarantee they can't sell it for a higher price than I can.

Check out the agent making the claim first.  How many homes did that agent sell in the last 6 months?  How about this - how many homes in the same sub-division did that agent sell in the last 6 months

Gone and done it . . .

While I've been using "smartphones" for a few years now, I've never been completely happy with the phones I've chosen (for one reason or another).

I started with the Treo 600, which I liked well enough - but my darling husband dispatched his to infinity and beyond and at the time, he needed one more than I did, so I gave mine to him.  Then, about 16 months ago I bought myself a Samsung something or other that although it has most features I need, it had little quirks that were insanely annoying to me.  Hubby now has the MotoQ9 and LOVES it.

I've been looking and watching for a new smart phone for almost a year ago.  I wasn't sold on blackberrys cause frankly I didn't care if I got email on my phone or not.  I also wasn't sold on palm devices because I didn't care if I could use my Ibox via the phone or not (I list and sell properties, I don't work with buyers).

My biggest requirements were 1) size, I definitely wanted a smaller phone.  2) I wanted a phone that had more than just the number pad for texting, but didn't necessarily need the full alphabet either.  3) I wanted a full "smart phone" - syncable to outlook for calender and contacts.  4) I wanted a camera again (I didn't have that on my last phone but did prior).  5) I also liked the idea that my phone could serve as a modem for my laptop, thus eliminating the need for me to have a separate wireless account (ie, an additional $50/mo expense for traveling) - I do still maintain a broadband account at home for the household.

What did I settle on?  The Blackberry Pearl - I LOVE IT.  I have had the opportunity to play with this device prior to buying it (a friend had one) and found that it would be the perfect device for me.

I hope this helps someone!

Something totally unrelated to business, just to use up time...

Ok, so I'm just a couple hundred points shy of 100,000.  I'm not much interested in competing for points anymore but, I am going to play a little today and get my self over my apparent 100k point hump.  Today is the day I will achieve 100k points, if nothing else.  Can I do it?  Sure.  Will I be putting up ridiculous blog posts in order to do so?  Perhaps.  Do I care?  Not so much - see - we all have to crazy pointless moments every now and then.  This is my crazy pointless moment in time.

;)

Russell Shaw has got some Cojones - GO RUSSELL!!

GO RUSSELL GO

This has been going on for a bit in the blogosphere - in case you are unaware, Russell is reminding us again and bring it to full light:

Far less dramatic - but still not good - is the situation of Vlad Zablotskyy, also a blogger.  Vlad is being sued by a company that charges agents fees to direct business to them.  That company is e perks, which Jay Thompson has written about before.  It looks to me like e perks is attempting to use the U.S. legal system to intimidate someone who said something they didn't like.

So which is it? Fewer travelers or an abundance of tourists? North Idaho is a desired destination.

Today our local Coeur d’Alene Press posted AAA’s recent survey saying...

Realtor . com is a joke - unfortunately, we are the laughing stock for putting up with it!

Blanche Evans, a writer for Realty Times pretty much sums it up:

For a tech company, Realtor.com is surprisingly out of touch. Why should agents be excited about paying Realtor.com for privileges they can get for free elsewhere?

If Realtor.com is supposed to be a member benefit, it's missing the mark, and making the NAR vulnerable. Franchises don't owe the NAR the time of day. They compete with the NAR to provide benefits to agents. And they just trumped the NAR big time with their own member benefit - unlimited listings and enhancements on Zillow!

I've been beyond disappointed in r . com for years now.  From the beginning I've never paid for using their service - I've always been able to because more people type in City / State / Real Estate when searching for a home than go to r . com (first).  Why pay thousands of dollars for something I can do and get for free?  Why?  I'm with Russell Shaw on the whole boycott idea.

What disgusts me even more is that r . com is supposed to be a benefit for Realtors - but it's an archaic piece of junk slowly being ripped apart at the seams.  Thing is, that 'slowly' is picking up speed with Trulia and Zillow nipping at r . com's heels.

Do you need an attorney when purchasing North Idaho Real Estate?

The answer is, it depends. Real estate purchases in North Idaho do not require the services of an attorney (unlike some other states). In fact, for most transactions, hiring an attorney to assist you can be an unnecessary use of your money...

You can find all this and more at the North Idaho Real Estate Blog.

You can not succeed unless you FAIL.

Thanks to The Real Estate Bloggers for sharing this very powerful video. Now I'm passing the love on...

It's a reminder that all too often, fear of failure is what holds us back. We should embrace failure, encourage failure. We can only be successful if we do this. So get out there and live to fail! Here's to failure!!
